برعاية منصور بن زايد.. مهرجان ليوا للرطب بدورته الـ 21 ينطلق 14 يوليو

تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ منصور بن زايد آل نهيان، نائب رئيس الدولة نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء رئيس ديوان الرئاسة، تنطلق في مدينة ليوا بمنطقة الظفرة فعاليات الدورة الــ 21 لمهرجان ليوا للرطب في الفترة من 14 إلى 27 يوليو المقبل بتنظيم هيئة أبوظبي للتراث.
ويهدف المهرجان الذي يأتي بالتزامن مع موسم خرف الرطب في دولة الإمارات، إلى إبراز مكانة شجرة النخيل وثمارها في المجتمع الإماراتي، باعتبارها إحدى مكونات الهوية الوطنية، إلى جانب الإسهام في استدامة القطاعين التراثي والزراعي، وتعزيز الوعي بأهمية الزراعة في الإمارات، ودعم أصحاب المزارع المنتجة للرطب والفاكهة وغيرها من المنتجات الزراعية المحلية، وتعزيز منظومة الأمن الغذائي، وإبراز جهود إمارة أبوظبي في التوعية بالزراعة الحديثة.
ويضم المهرجان بدورته الحادية والعشرين 24 مسابقة منها 12 مسابقة لمزاينات الرطب لفئات «الدباس، والخلاص، والفرض، والخنيزي، وبومعان، والشيشي، والزاملي، ومسابقة أكبر عذج، ومسابقتي الظفرة وليوا لنخبة الرطب، ومسابقتي فرض وخلاص العين”، و7 مسابقات للفواكه لفئات “الليمون المنوع والمحلي، والمانجو المنوع والمحلي، والتين الأحمر والأصفر، وسلة فواكه الدار”، و3 مسابقات للمزرعة النموذجية لفئات “المحاضر الغربية، والمحاضر الشرقية، ومدن الظفرة”، ومسابقة أجمل مخرافة، ومسابقة إبداع من جذع النخلة. ويصل مجموع جوائز المهرجان إلى أكثر من 8 ملايين 735 ألف درهم.
وخصصت اللجنة المنظمة للمهرجان 25 جائزة لكل من مسابقتي مزاينة رطب الدباس ومزاينة رطب الخلاص بقيمة تبلغ 446 ألف درهم لكل مسابقة، إذا يحصل الفائز بالمركز الأول على مبلغ 100 ألف درهم والمركز الثاني 75 ألف درهم والمركز الثالث 40 ألف درهم، فيما خصصت 15جائزة لكل من مسابقة الشيشي وبومعان والخنيزي والفرض والزاملي بقيمة 367 ألف درهم لكل مسابقة، يحصل منها الفائز الأول على 100 ألف درهم، والثاني على 75 ألفاً والثالث على 40 ألفاً.
ورصدت لمسابقة فرض مزارع العين 15 جائزة ينال منها الفائز الأول 100 ألف درهم والثاني 75 ألفاً والثالث 40 ألفاً، فيما خصصت لمسابقة خلاص مزارع العين 25 جائزة؛ يحصل الفائز الأول على 100 ألف درهم والثاني على 75 ألفاً والثالث على 40 ألفاً. فيما خصصت لمسابقتي ليوا والظفرة لنخبة الرطب 15 جائزة لكل منهما، حيث يحصل الفائز الأول بمسابقة الظفرة لنخبة الرطب على 200 ألف والثاني على 150 ألفاً والثالث على 100 ألف، ويبلغ مجموع جوائزها أكثر من 700 ألف درهم، فيما يحصل الأول في مسابقة ليوا لنخبة الرطب على 125 ألف درهم والثاني على 100 ألف والثالث على 60 ألفاً، ويبلغ مجوع جوائزها أكثر من نصف مليون درهم
وتبلغ جوائز مسابقة أكبر عذج 234 ألف درهم لـ 15 فائزاً، إذ يحصل الفائز بالمركز الأول على مبلغ 50 ألف درهم والمركز الثاني على 40 ألف درهم والمركز الثالث على 30 ألف درهم، وخصصت لمسابقة المانجو من فئتي المحلي والمنوع عشر جوائز لكل فئة بقيمة إجمالية 234 ألف درهم للفئتين.
وفي مسابقة الليمون بفئتيه المنوع والمحلي، والتين بفئتي الأحمر والأصفر، خصص المهرجان 10 جوائز لكل فئة تبلغ قيمتها 117 ألف درهم، فيما بلغت جوائز مسابقة سلة فواكه الدار 400 ألف درهم لثلاثة فائزين، إذ يحصل صاحب المركز الأول منهم على 200 ألف درهم والثاني على 120 ألف درهم والثالث على 80 ألف درهم. أما مسابقة المزرعة النموذجية لفئات «المحاضر الغربية، والمحاضر الشرقية، ومدن الظفرة» فتبلغ جوائزها 750 ألف درهم لكل فئة من الفئات الثلاثة، يحصل منها الفائز الأول على 300 ألف درهم، والثاني 180 ألفاً، والثالث على 120 ألفاً.
كما خصص المهرجان عشر جوائز لمسابقة أجمل مخرافة رطب، التي تهدف إلى إحياء الحرف اليدوية التراثية المعتمدة على الخامات الطبيعية الصديقة للبيئة، إضافة إلى تخصيص عشر جوائز لمسابقة إبداع من جذع النخلة التي تهدف إلى تشجيع إعادة تدوير جذع النخلة لإنتاج قطع فنية.
ويضم المهرجان عدداً من المسابقات والفعاليات والأنشطة التراثية التي تسهم في المحافظة على موروث النخلة وترسيخ مكانة النخيل بصفته رمزاً لأصالة الماضي وخير الحاضر، إضافة إلى تعزيز الروابط الأسرية والمجتمعية والمحافظة على تواصل الأجيال، وترسيخ قيم التعاون والانتماء لديهم، إضافة إلى الحفاظ على التراث الثقافي، بما يحقق أهداف عام المجتمع في دولة الإمارات.
كما يعد المهرجان حدثاً مهماً لدعم المجتمع المحلي والأسر المنتجة في المنطقة، من خلال السوق الشعبي الذي يضم محال بيع الرطب، ومنتجات التمور، وما يرتبط بالنخيل، والمقاهي المتنقلة، والمصانع والمشاتل، إلى جانب أجنحة الجهات الراعية والداعمة والمشاركة، كما تشمل فعالياته أنشطة يومية للمسرح تشمل مسابقات وجوائز يومية للجمهور، وعروض فرق الفنون الشعبية، والمحاضرات والندوات والأمسيات المتنوعة.
ويمثل المهرجان ملتقى راتباً يجمع المزارعين والخبراء ورواد الصناعات والشركات ومراكز البحوث حول هدف دعم القطاع الزراعي والإسهام في استدامته، إضافة إلى دوره في تفعيل الحركة الاقتصادية وتنشيطها في منطقة الظفرة عبر برامجه التي تجتذب آلاف الزوار في كل عام.
21st Liwa Date Festival Set to Launch on July 14 Under the Patronage of Mansour bin Zayed

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the 21st edition of the Liwa Date Festival will take place from July 14 to 27 in Liwa City, Al Dhafra Region. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the festival reaffirms its commitment to celebrating one of the UAE’s most enduring cultural and agricultural traditions.
Coinciding with the UAE’s annual date harvest, the festival highlights the central role of palm trees and their produce in Emirati society, recognizing them as a cornerstone of the nation’s cultural identity. It also promotes the sustainability of the heritage and agricultural sectors, raises awareness of the importance of farming in the UAE, and encourages local date and crop producers. In addition, the festival supports food security efforts and reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to advancing modern agricultural practices.
This year’s edition features 24 competitions, including 12 date “mazayna” contests covering categories such as Dabbas, Khalas, Fard, Khenaizi, Buma’an, Shishi, Zamli, the Largest Date Bunch, the Al Dhafra and Liwa Elite Dates competitions, and the Al Ain Fard and Khalas contests. It also includes seven fruit competitions for various local and mixed varieties of lemons, mangoes, red and yellow figs, and the “Local Fruits Basket” contest. The festival further features three “Model Farm” competitions across the Western and Eastern Mahadir (agricultural farms) and Al Dhafra cities, as well as contests for the Most Beautiful Palm Frond Basket and artistic creations made from palm trunks. The total prize value for this year’s festival exceeds AED 8.735 million.
The festival’s organizing committee has allocated 25 prizes each for the Dabbas and Khalas Date Mazayna competitions, with a total prize pool of AED 446,000 per competition. The first-place winner in each will receive AED 100,000, the second AED 75,000, and the third AED 40,000. For the Shishi, Buma’an, Khenaizi, Fard, and Zamli categories, 15 prizes are offered in each, with AED 367,000 in total prize money per contest and the same top-tier awards of AED 100,000, AED 75,000, and AED 40,000. Specific to Al Ain farms, the Fard Dates Competition offers 15 prizes, with its top three winners receiving AED 100,000, AED 75,000, and AED 40,000, respectively. Similarly, the Khalas Dates Competition for Al Ain farms features 25 prizes, with the same prize amounts awarded to its top three winners.
The Liwa and Al Dhafra Elite Dates Competitions each feature 15 prizes. In the Al Dhafra Elite Dates Competition, the first-place winner will receive AED 200,000, the second AED 150,000, and the third AED 100,000, with the total prize pool exceeding AED 700,000. In the Liwa Elite Dates Competition, the top three prizes are AED 125,000, AED 100,000, and AED 60,000, respectively, bringing the total prize value to over AED 500,000.
The Largest Bunch of Dates Competition has a prize pool of AED 234,000 distributed among 15 winners, with AED 50,000 for first place, AED 40,000 for second, and AED 30,000 for third.
In the fruit category, the Mango Competition features two subcategories: local and mixed varieties. Each subcategory offers ten prizes, with a combined prize pool of AED 234,000.
In the Lemon Competition (local and mixed varieties) and the Fig Competition (red and yellow varieties), the festival has allocated 10 prizes for each category, with a total value of AED 117,000 per category. Complementing these is the Local Fruit Basket Competition, which offers a prize pool of AED 400,000, with AED 200,000 awarded to the first-place winner, AED 120,000 to the second, and AED 80,000 to the third.
For the Model Farm Competition, which covers the Liwa Western Farms, Liwa Eastern Farms, and Al Dhafra Cities categories, each category carries a prize pool of AED 750,000. The first-place winner in each will receive AED 300,000, second place AED 180,000, and third AED 120,000.
The festival has also allocated 10 prizes for the Most Beautiful Date Basket Competition, which aims to revive traditional handicrafts using eco-friendly natural materials. Additionally, 10 prizes have been designated for the Palm Trunk Creativity Competition, which encourages the recycling of palm trunks into artistic creations.
Beyond the competitions, the festival presents a diverse program of heritage events, daily activities, and cultural initiatives that preserve the legacy of the date palm as a symbol of the UAE’s rich heritage and ongoing prosperity. It also promotes family and community ties, encourages intergenerational engagement, and reinforces values of cooperation and belonging, reflecting the spirit of the UAE’s “Year of the Community.”
The festival also serves as a key platform for supporting the local community and productive families in the region through its traditional market, which includes stalls selling fresh dates and date-based products, mobile cafés, agricultural factories, plant nurseries, and pavilions representing sponsoring and participating organizations. Daily stage activities include interactive quizzes with prizes, live folkloric performances, lectures, seminars, and a variety of cultural evenings.
Bringing together farmers, experts, industry leaders, companies, and research centers, the festival serves as a collaborative hub to support the agricultural sector and promote its long-term sustainability. It also plays a key role in boosting the Al Dhafra Region’s economy through a diverse program that draws thousands of visitors each year.
