المرفأ- عمان 18 كانون الثاني – أعلنت الهيئة العلمية لجائزة عبد الحميد شومان للباحثين العرب، عن فتح باب التقدم للجائزة، في دورتها (44) للعام 2026، مشيرة إلى أن آخر موعد لتقديم الطلبات هو 31 آذار/ مارس 2026.

وتضم حقول الجائزة: حقل “العلوم الطبية والصحية” ويشمل، طب الجينوم والطب الدقيق، والطب عن بعد والصحة الرقمية، كذلك حقل “العلوم الهندسية والتكنولوجية ” ويشمل تكنولوجيا شبكات الطاقة الكهربائية الذكية، وتطبيقات الهيدروجين الأخضر ومشتقاته، و”حقل العلوم الأساسية” ويتضمن الذكاء الاصطناعي والمراقبة الذكية للأرض، والنمذجة الرياضية الذكية وتطبيقاتها، وحقل “العلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية والتربوية” ويشمل دراسات الذاكرة، والذكاء العاطفي والاجتماعي في المنظومة التعليمية، وحقل “علوم المياه والطاقة والغذاء” ويشمل صحة التربة وإدارة خصوبتها، والاقتصاد الدائري وكفاءة الطاقة في الزراعة المستدامة، وحقل “العلوم الاقتصادية والإدارية”، ويتضمن الإفصاح المالي والإداري، وإدارة سلاسل التوريد.

وتمنح الجائزة تقديراً لنتاج علمي متميز في السنوات الخمس السابقة للترشح ويؤدي نشره وتعميمه إلى زيادة في المعرفة العلمية والتطبيقية، والإسهام في حل مشكلات ذات أولوية محلياً وإقليمياً وعالمياً، ونشر ثقافة البحث العلمي، وتتكون من شهادة تتضمن اسم الجائزة واسم الفائز، والحقل الذي فاز به، ومكافأة مالية مقدارها 20 ألف دولار، ودرع يحمل اسم الجائزة وشعارها.

وبينت الهيئة العلمية للجائزة أن شروط الترشح للجائزة، تتطلب أن يكون المتقدم عربي الجنسية أو من أصل عربي، وأن يكون على قيد الحياة وقت التقدم للجائزة، وأن يقدم للعلم وللمجتمع نتاجاً علمياً ذا قيمة علمية واجتماعية، وأن يرسل نبذة عن المساهمة العلمية باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية وخصوصا في آخر 5 سنوات (من عام 2021 إلى عام 2025).

وأشارت الهيئة إلى أن الأبحاث المقدمة للجائزة، يجب أن يكون قد تم إنجازها في بلد عربي، مبينة أن رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه لا تدخل في تقييم النتاج العلمي للمتقدم.

كما اشترطت الهيئة أن يرسل النتاج العلمي للمتقدم إلكترونياً، من خلال التسجيل وتقديم طلب الترشح للجائزة عبر النظام الإلكتروني المتاح على الموقع الإلكتروني للمؤسسة وهو:( https://shoman.org/ResearchersAward )، مرفقاً بالوثائق والمعلومات الأخرى المطلوبة في النموذج المعد لذلك، مع مراعاة التقيد التام بتعليمات تعبئة النموذج المذكور لتسهيل عمل المحكمين.

وتتولى تقييم النتاج العلمي المقدم والمقبول لنيل الجائزة، لجان تحكيم تؤلفها الهيئة العلمية للجائزة من أهل الخبرة والكفاية بناءً على معايير تضمن موضوعية ومصداقية نتائج الجائزة، كما تتخذ اللجان قراراتها المسببة باختيار الفائزين بالجائزة أو حجبها.

وتأتي جائزة “شومان للباحثين العرب”؛ إيماناً من المؤسسة بأن المجتمعات لا يمكن لها أن تتقدم من دون العلم، ومن دون أن يتم تعزيزه في أوجه الحياة المختلفة، وتهدف إلى إعداد جيل من الباحثين والخبراء والاختصاصيين العرب في الميادين العلمية المختلفة، إضافة إلى الإسهام في دعم البحث العلمي والعربي وتفعيله.

وجائزة عبد الحميد شومان للباحثين العرب؛ هي أوّل جائزة عربيّة، تعنى بالبحث العلمي وتحتفي بالباحثين العرب منذ العام 1982، وتهدف إلى دعم البحث العلمي وإبرازه في جميع أنحاء الوطن العربي، والمشاركة في إعداد وإلهام جيلٍ من الباحثين والخبراء والمختصّين العرب في الميادين العلميّة المختلفة الذين يعملون في ظلّ الإمكانيَات المحدودة لدى المؤسّسات والجامعات والأفراد.

ومنذ انطلاق الجائزة في عام 1982 وحتى اليوم، بلغ عدد المترشحين لها 7169 باحثاً وباحثة من مختلف أنحاء الوطن العربي والعالم. وقد تُوج بالجائزة 506 فائزين بمختلف حقول ومواضيع الجائزة، تقديراً لإنجازاتهم العلمية المتميزة في مختلف حقول المعرفة.

Amman, January 18 — The Scientific Committee of the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers announced that applications are now open for the Award’s 44th cycle for 2026, with a deadline of March 31, 2026.
The Award fields include:
• Medical and Health Sciences, covering genomic medicine and precision medicine, telemedicine, and digital health.
• Engineering and Technological Sciences, including smart electrical power grid technologies, green hydrogen, and its derivatives.
• Basic Sciences, encompassing artificial intelligence and smart earth observation, intelligent mathematical modeling, and its applications.
• Humanities, Social, and Educational Sciences, including memory studies, and emotional and social intelligence in educational systems.
• Water, Energy, and Food Sciences, covering soil health and fertility management, the circular economy, and energy efficiency in sustainable agriculture.
• Economic and Administrative Sciences, including financial and administrative disclosure, and supply chain management.
The Award recognizes outstanding scientific work produced in the five years prior to nomination that advances scientific and applied knowledge, addresses priority issues locally, regionally, and globally, and promotes a culture of scientific research through publication and dissemination. The Award consists of a certificate bearing the name of the Award, the winner’s name, and the winning field, a USD 20,000 cash prize, and a commemorative plaque bearing the Award’s name and logo.
The Scientific Committee explained that eligibility conditions require applicants to be of Arab nationality or of Arab origin, to be alive at the time of application, and to have produced scientific work of recognized scientific and social value. Applicants must submit a summary of their scientific contribution in Arabic and English, particularly covering the last five years (2021–2025).
The Committee noted that submitted research must have been conducted in an Arab country, and that master’s and doctoral theses are not included in the evaluation of the applicant’s scientific output.
Applicants are required to submit their scientific output electronically by registering and applying through the Award’s online system available on the Foundation’s website:
(https://shoman.org/ResearchersAward), along with the required documents and information, and in strict compliance with the form-filling instructions to facilitate the work of reviewers.
The evaluation of submitted and accepted scientific output is conducted by peer-review committees formed by the Award’s Scientific Committee from experts with proven competence, based on criteria that ensure objectivity and credibility. These committees issue reasoned decisions to select winners or withhold the Award.
The Shoman Award for Arab Researchers reflects the Foundation’s belief that societies cannot progress without science and without strengthening its role across all aspects of life. The Award aims to prepare a generation of Arab researchers, experts, and specialists in various scientific fields, and to support and activate Arab scientific research.
Since its establishment in 1982, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers has been the first Arab award dedicated to scientific research. The Award supports and promotes scientific research across the Arab world, while inspiring and nurturing generations of Arab researchers, experts, and specialists despite limited institutional, university, and individual resources.
Since its establishment in 1982, the Award has attracted 7,169 applicants from the Arab world and beyond, and has honored 506 winners across its various fields and topics for their outstanding scientific achievements.
